Field sampling  within Work Package 1 – WP1 “Soil health status in Serbia – characterization of soil types”.  With the aim of determining the health status of the soil, from arable land within the Tamiš Research and Development Institute, the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje, the company “FERTICO” d.o.o., and family agricultural holdings in Brestovac and Medveđa, soil samples were collected for the isolation of soil bacteria and fungi, metagenomic analysis and monitoring of physical and chemical characteristics of the soil, the presence of metals, microplastics, minerals and pesticides. In addition, weed plants were collected for selection of best weed candidtaes for composting.
